Safari in Tanzania

5 days, 4 nights, 4 national parks, 2 very nice Slovenian safari buddies, 2 great Tanzanians (1 guide/driver and 1 cook) and 25 LIONS!!!

We arrived in Arusha after a full day bus journey from Nairobi ready to go on Safari. After a full day of chatting to various operators we plumped for a 5 day classic visiting Manyara, Tarangire, Ngorogoro and the Serengeti and were ready to go Sunday morning.

Here are some photos of the animals we saw on our safari.

Highlights
1 - Seeing Lions in the wild for the first time in the Serengeti and Ngorogoro after hours of looking for them in Uganda. We saw cubs, young males, fully grown males, females, Lions mating, Lions chilling out, lions right next to our van taking shade, Lions singing and Lions doing the moonwalk (okay the last two are made up).
2 - Spending 5 minutes with a female Cheetah and her 4 cubs perched on a termite mound. magic.
3 - Seeing a Leopard up a tree with its kill. It was there across two days, eating when it was hungry and then sleeping in the tree. Nice life.
4 - Watching a Jackal chase, catch and kill a baby impala in the Serengeti. Circle of life right there for all to see.
5 - Hyenas. just like in the cartoons no-one likes them and they don't care.
6 - Elephants everywhere in Tarangire, washing themselves, spraying themselves and walking in a line like the jungle book.
7 - Just being in the Serengeti. Awesome.
